We're hiring Part-time Deck Leads/Swim Instructors at all 3 of our locations (Lakeshore, North York and Markham),

and we want you to be part of our vibrant team!

The

Deck Lead/Swim Instructor

plays a critical role in supporting participant success and fostering strong team development at Mayfair Clubs. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong situational awareness, possesses advanced knowledge of swim instruction techniques--including skill assessment, corrections, and effective manipulations--and is confident working with diverse participant groups. They consistently deliver high-quality feedback and exceptional customer service. This position also contributes to maintaining a safe aquatic environment by supporting emergency response, assisting in accident prevention, and responding appropriately to incidents as they arise.

What You Will Do



Swim Instructor:



Plan and deliver engaging swim lessons using daily lesson plans and long-term core plans to ensure progressive learning. Provide high-quality instruction and evaluations for participants. Set up and clean up the pool deck before and after lessons. Maintain participant safety through effective class formations and scanning techniques. Follow emergency procedures when required. Deliver excellent customer service to members and guests. Participate in and help host scheduled promotional events. Attend regular in-service training sessions. Perform additional duties as assigned.
Deck Lead:

Deliver exceptional customer service to all participants by creating a welcoming environment for swimmers and families, addressing customer concerns in a timely manner, ensuring complaints are documented and if unable to resolve, reported to the Aquatics Supervisor. Supervise and support swimming classes and instructors to ensure safety, and quality of instruction adheres to Mayfair Clubs guidelines and standards. Review, on an ongoing basis, lesson plans and evaluations of swim instructors Assess classes, and new clients to determine current state of progress and current levels, while following up with appropriate feedback to swimmers, families, and instructors. Maintain accurate, up-to-date attendance and progress sheets for participants and instructors Help mentor, and coach instructors on Mayfair Clubs teaching methods and programs in a hands-on manner. Review and approve report cards to ensure accurate feedback and progress is recorded and delivered to families. Lead the set up and tear down of the pool deck, as required checking that equipment is safe and in good condition. Immediately report all malfunctions to the Aquatics Supervisor. Responds to aquatic or first aid situations ensuring emergency procedures are followed. Committed to being present and on time to every shift, and in assigned uniform. Assist in the preparation and delivery of staff training. Perform additional duties as assigned.

WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL



Current standard First Aid and CPR-C certifications Current Lifesaving Society Swim Instruction Certification Completed National Lifeguard Certification Aquatics Supervisor Certification - Can be acquired after hiring Lifesaving Society Lifesaving Instructor Certification Minimum 2 years of experience Comfortable with Google Docs, Sheets and other computer software programs Ability to work weekends, weeknights, and camp programs

National Lifeguard Instructor Certification Standard First Aid Instructor Certification Examiners Certification - Bronze / National Lifeguard / Standard First Aid High Five Certifications Knowledge of and/or working towards HIGH FIVE Principles of Healthy Child Development and/or Quest 2
