Duties

Perform thorough cleaning of classrooms, play areas, restrooms, kitchens, hallways, and common spaces using appropriate cleaning supplies and equipment Conduct routine floor care including sweeping, mopping, buffing, and carpet cleaning to ensure safety and hygiene standards are met Maintain cleanliness of furniture, fixtures, windows, and surfaces to promote a healthy environment Restock supplies such as paper towels, soap dispensers, and cleaning materials as needed Follow established safety protocols during all cleaning procedures to prevent accidents or contamination Assist with light custodial tasks such as painting touch-ups or minor repairs in shared spaces when necessary Document cleaning activities and report any maintenance issues or safety hazards promptly to management

Skills

Proven experience in commercial or residential cleaning with a focus on janitorial duties Strong knowledge of custodial practices including floor care techniques like buffing and stripping Familiarity with industrial cleaning equipment and supplies Ability to perform routine maintenance tasks such as minor repairs or painting Excellent attention to detail with a proactive approach to maintaining cleanliness standards Ability to work independently while managing multiple responsibilities efficiently Good communication skills for coordinating with staff regarding cleaning schedules or safety concerns
