ACCOUNTABILITIES:Plan and lead the daily themed artistic and creative hands-on components of the day camp experience
Coordinate and lead various group or individual projects and activities with the campers
Provide open-ended activities for the early arrivers at camp each morning
The Salvation Army - Canada and Bermuda Territory Assist with recreational programming at local parks
Clean up and set up of activities, both indoor and outdoor
Encourage campers to participate wholeheartedly whenever possible.
Assist with the registration process
Follow the daily program schedule
Preparation of supplies
Managing the indoor/outdoor environment to ensure appropriate health and safety requirements are met
Interaction with parents, coaching children, and communication with teammates is required throughout
Dealing with behavioural concerns of children and youth if they arise during program participation at day camp in conjunction with the Program Coordinator
Participate in staff debriefing meetings

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS:
Education, Qualifications and Certifications:Completion of high school diploma.
First Aid certificate or willingness to obtain.
Background check consent.
Completion of TSA online Praesidium Abuse Training and required Health and Safety training.
Able to provide Criminal Background Check screening and Vulnerable Secord Check that is satisfactory to The Salvation Army, in its sole discretion, is required.

Experience and Skilled Knowledge RequirementsExperience working with children, knowledge of child development and ways to engage learners in various activities and environments.
Experience leading children through Vacation Bible School material
Ability to share Christian faith through various activities (craft, story time, interaction, etc)

Compensation:
The target hiring range for this position is $17.85 to $19.69 with a maximum of $23.63.
Placement in the salary range will be based on factors such as market conditions, internal equity, and candidate experience, skills, and qualifications relevant to the role.
