We are seeking a skilled and motivated professional to join our team as a Database Analyst. In this role, you will play a key part in managing and optimizing our enterprise data systems, supporting business intelligence initiatives, and ensuring data accuracy and performance across all platforms. Hours:
Hours are Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM (flexible) with a 1 hour lunch
Responsibilities
Administers SQL and MariaDB servers for various business systems, including monitoring, troubleshooting, and performing data recovery when failures occur.
Integrates and enhances enterprise databases by assessing existing systems, aggregating data from multiple sources, and collaborating with internal and external partners.
Develops and maintains ETL processes, dashboards, and reports while automating report distribution and supporting business intelligence and analytics activities.
Conducts business analysis by gathering requirements, managing data warehouses, improving workflows, and recommending process improvements to ensure data integrity.
Maintains comprehensive documentation of database systems, applications, and related processes to ensure up-to-date and accurate records.
Qualifications
3 to 5 years' experience with MS SQL Server, MySQL (or equivalent systems), database queries, stored procedures, and user access control and monitoring in a corporate environment
Related experience on a variety of platforms (e.g. MS, UNIX, LINUX)
Degree or Certificate in Computer Science preferred
Technical certifications and asset (e.g. MCDBA)
Knowledge on ETL/ELT processes
Crystal Reports, Microsoft Reporting Services, or equivalent
Advanced MS Excel including the creation of sophisticated macros, VBA, etc
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Organized, sets priorities, meets deadlines
Shows attention to detail
Communicates effectively with diverse groups on technical issues
Ability to work independently as an in-house expert and work as part of the Systems team environment
Deal professionally with confidential and sensitive information
Knowledge of truck & trailer industry software an asset (e.g. Karmak, Profit Master)
