About the Role - How you will Contribute to the Service:
As a Database Analyst, you will be at the forefront of ensuring the protection, integrity, stability, and availability of all electronic data and applications across the organization. Key Responsibilities
Database Design & Administration
Architect, install, configure, and tune databases across on-premises, cloud-native, and hybrid environments to deliver cost-effective scalability and resilience.
Performance Optimization & Automation
Implement intelligent automation and techniques for query tuning, anomaly detection, and predictive scaling. Utilize automation to minimize downtime and manual intervention.
Application Support & Integration
Maintain and troubleshoot key application systems including CAD, Niche, CPIC, BI, OSL, SharePoint, GeoTalent, CryWolf, Coplogic, and Sharescan. Integrate with real-time analytics and streaming platforms to enable operational intelligence and faster decision-making.
Data Security & Compliance
Safeguard sensitive data using advanced security frameworks, real-time threat detection, and compliance automation. Ensure robust backup, restore, and disaster recovery strategies across all environments.
Emerging Data Architectures
Adopt modern data architectures such as decentralized models to enable self-service analytics. Explore graph and distributed database concepts for advanced relationship modeling and global availability.
Collaboration & Continuous Improvement
Partner with stakeholders to analyze business processes, identify requirements, and design efficient, data-driven solutions. Support test and production environments, manage upgrades, and ensure systems remain optimized and future-ready.
What you'll Bring to the Role:
Education, Certifications and Qualifications:
A college diploma or degree in a related field such as Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a closely related discipline is required. Possession of Database Administration and/or Microsoft certifications, such as the Microsoft Certified Information Technology Professional (MCITP) designation or an equivalent credential, will be considered an asset.
Previous Experience, Knowledge and Skills:
Candidates must have a minimum of three years of related experience in database design, development, maintenance, and reporting. Experience supporting SQL databases within a Microsoft environment is required.
The position requires strong technical expertise in database administration, including performance tuning, security, management, and Relational Database Management Systems (RDBMS). Proficiency in Structured Query Language (SQL) and hands-on experience with scripting and programming for automation and application integration is essential. Candidates should demonstrate the ability to develop scripts and custom solutions using languages such as VBScript, Microsoft .NET (ASP/ASPX), Visual Basic, Java/JavaScript, HTML, and XML. Familiarity with object-oriented programming concepts and the ability to write efficient, reusable code for database-driven applications will be highly valued.
Experience with reporting and analytics tools, including Business Objects and Crystal Reports, is also required. Additional experience in creating automated workflows, data transformation scripts, and integration with APIs or web services will be considered a strong asset.
