We are looking for a Data Systems Engineer responsible for managing production related data at the Diavik mine site. This is a great opportunity for an individual with a good understanding of data systems, with a mining background, and a passion for data systems and analysis.

Reporting to the Superintendent, Integrated Mine Planning, located at Lac de Gras Mine Site, you will be working a 12 hours per day shift on a 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off rotation. You will be responsible for:
  • Managing production databases
  • Identifying and implementing internal process improvements such as automating manual processes and re-designing data flow processes for ease of use and stability
  • Assembling and transforming data sets from multiple sources to meet business requirements
  • Working with business stakeholders to understand reporting requirements and opportunities for further analytics
  • Developing and maintaining visualizations and reports for production performance against targets
  • Assisting various departments with data analysis
  • Assisting with other mining systems as required
What you\'ll bring
  • A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team
  • High level of computer data and programming skills in Power BI (DAX, M Code)
  • Familiarity with Microsoft SQL Server and authoring SQL queries
  • Experience at mine sites in production related positions
  • Engineering degree from a recognized post-secondary institution
  • Registered or ability to be registered with NAPEG
  • 2+ years of experience
  • Experience in underground and open pit operations is preferred
Northern residency and experience working in a cross-cultural environment, coupled with knowledge of the unique challenges and opportunities presented to those living in the North, are assets.
