Your Opportunity:

Reporting to the Manager, Health Systems Knowledge and Evaluation, the Data Science and Evaluation Coordinator supports various data analysis and evaluation activities undertaken by the Health Systems Knowledge and Evaluation (HSKE) unit. HSKE is a provincial team within the Health Evidence and Innovation (HEI) department and the Provincial Clinical Excellence (PCE) portfolio of Alberta Health Services. The team applies a variety of research, evaluation, and knowledge management approaches to gather evidence in a systematic fashion to enable program leaders to: (i) understand the impact and value a specific project is generating, and (ii) gather and share knowledge for continuous organizational improvement and learning. In this position, you will be required to work on a variety of projects under the leadership of a Senior Consultant, in collaboration with multiple members of the HSKE team, including Evaluation Consultants, Data Analysts, and Project Assistants. The position requires general experience with data management, research and evaluation methodologies, statistical analysis, and reporting, as well as knowledge of the health care system in Alberta. The location of the position within Alberta is negotiable.

Description:

Under the supervision of a Senior Consultant, you will work collaboratively to support implementation, evaluation, and reporting on healthcare-related projects. You may be involved in multiple concurrent studies. This role involves: Working with multiple data types (e.g., Admission/Discharge/Transfer data, Continuing Care data, Emergency Department data, Primary Care data, etc.) and multiple data sources (e.g., Abstract, Meditech, Registry, Continuing Care information systems, Emergency Department information systems) within and external to AHS; Retrieving, synthesizing, and interpreting evidence from the literature; Supporting primary data collection using REDCap; Assisting in statistical analysis of data to support project objectives; Organizing and summarizing evaluation findings with data visualization techniques using Tableau; Assisting in drafting and editing written reports and oral presentations, summaries and manuscripts; Offering a range of applied knowledge, skills, and research methodologies to clients; Responding to standard requests for data and information from various projects.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor\'s degree with a strong quantitative and qualitative analysis component, e.g., data science, healthcare informatics, public health, biostatistics, epidemiology, or a related field. Strong proficiency in SQL, Python, R and Tableau for complex data analyses and building predictive models. Experience and expertise using a variety of data science tools. Additional Required Qualifications:

Formal training in data analysis, project evaluation and/or research methods. A minimum of 2 years of experience analyzing, interpreting, reporting, and disseminating findings from quantitative data in evaluation and/or research. Experience in computer applications such as Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio), SPSS and NVIVO software is required. Experience in qualitative data collection and analysis, and literature reviews is required. Proficient written and verbal communication skills is essential. Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to work both independently and as a team player. Preferred Qualifications:

Master\'s degree in data science, healthcare informatics, or a related field. Prior experience in a healthcare setting, especially working closely with clinicians.
