We're looking for a Data Product Owner to support our Data Value Stream team at our admin office in Edmonton, Lloydminster, or Red Deer, Alberta.

The Data Product Owner is a high performing individual who will be responsible for the Business' requests for the data needs of Servus Credit Union Ltd. The PO of Data Technology will be working with multiple stakeholders and other development teams, setting priorities, and validating the deliverables agreed to for the team.

Reporting to the Director, Data COE & Business Enablement, you will be accountable for driving data maturity and providing leadership for the data needs to the Value Stream. Aligning with the direction of the Business and Data Product Managers, optimization of tools and technology stack, while meeting the daily operational needs is expected. You will be expected to lead the execution of deliverables by coordinating the feature development activities of the Data Value Stream, in line with Data Leadership Roadmaps and Business Stakeholder needs. While working closely with other Product Owners and Stakeholders across the organization to contribute to Servus' bold new vision.

More specifically, the scope of your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Providing vision for the Data Technology Value Stream and clear planning, while fostering innovation and collaboration.
  • Being the bridge between the business and development team(s).
  • Being a problem solver with the ability to analyze and prioritize to meet business needs
  • Regularly attending and participating in scrum ceremonies and contributing status updates for Data Leaders.
  • Playing an active role in in supporting the Scrum Master in mitigation, documentation, and removing impediments impacting completion of sprint goals and objectives.
  • Highly collaborative and comfortable with both high-level planning and tactical execution
  • High attention to detail with strong negotiation and problem-solving skills
  • Strong time management and prioritization skills to realize maximum value.
  • Effective communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills with the ability to present in a clear and professional manner, both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to manage and deliver several features simultaneously.
  • Ability to navigate the organization and influence through indirect leadership and relationships.
Requirements:

To qualify, you'll need at least the following:
  • .Professional Scrum Product Owner (PSPO) or Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) certification
  • .Experience acting in the role of Product Owner on an agile team in a mid-sized organization
  • .Minimum 5 years' experience guiding the development and implementation of data solutions
  • .Knowledge and demonstrated experience of agile development, principles & practices
  • .Knowledge of banking and financial industries
Although not required, the following experience and education/certifications are valuable assets:
  • Business Analyst certification and experience, and/or, sAFE certifications are an asset
