The Role:



The Data Governance Analyst supports initiatives that enhance data security, mitigate risk, and ensure regulatory compliance. This role works closely with the Data Governance Specialist, assisting in documenting and maintaining data policies, standards, and controls. The analyst will collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze data quality, identify risks, and recommendations, while contributing to the continuous improvement of secure and compliant data management practices across the organization.



Job Responsibilities:



Assist in the development and deployment of Data Security Governance practices that help safeguard information while enabling the business to move fast and smart Support the rollout of governance-related documents, policies, and procedures across the enterprise Assist the Data Governance Specialist in collaborating with cross-functional teams to understand their data needs and risks; helping them adopt consistent, compliant, and secure data practices Assist in gathering and documenting business functional requirements related to data governance, security, and compliance Support the development and maintenance of business process maps; data flows, identification of control points, and highlight areas of potential data risk or security exposure Assist with the tracking and reporting of governance activities to help inform decision-making and accountability Participate in projects under the guidance of the Data Governance Specialist Assist in the management and maintenance of Company-wide data repositories Assist the Data Governance Specialist in implementing data security risk remediation strategies using low-code Microsoft tools like Power Apps, Power Automate, and SharePoint solutions

MUST HAVE Skills:



Bachelor's degree in information systems, Computer Science, Data Analytics, Business Administration, or a related field Familiarity with data governance concepts, policies, and procedures Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially in Excel; familiarity with reporting or dashboards is an asset Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

Additional Skills:



Knowledge of database systems, data quality, and metadata management is an asset Experience with Microsoft Power Platform tools, including Power Apps, Power Automate, and SharePoint is an asset Experience in developing workflow diagrams and process maps is an asset Exposure to process modeling tools like Microsoft Visio, Lucidchart etc. is an asset Exposure to compliance frameworks like (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, SOC2) is an asset
