Job Title Data Engineer - Insurance Data Services


















What will you do?

  • Insurance Data Lake
  • Provides consulting services on new initiatives of small to medium complexity.
  • Monitor and act on ServiceNow incident tickets and service requests.
  • Supports DataStage and IDP ETL (data ingestion) jobs.
  • Supports WebFocus/Tableau reports and extracts.
  • Develops and supports Spark, Trino in support of Tableau reporting.
  • Create IBM JCL and job scheduling documents as needed.
  • Create production change records to deploy code for project or on behalf of other teams.
  • Contributes to successful project completion by identifying risks and developing/recommending mitigation strategies.
  • A senior team member, providing direction, expertise, feedback, coaching and development to build the capability of more junior staff.
  • Continually enhances skills and builds knowledge on Cloudrea platform data technologies.
  • Some evening/weekend work required for deployments and DR testing.
  • May require off hour support, pager rotation.
What do you need to succeed? Must-haves:
  • 3+ years working experience with Databases and SQL language.
  • 3+ years working experience with ETL Data Stage and reporting tools.
  • Working knowledge of Cloudrea/Trino/Kafka.
  • Working knowledge of Python/Spark.
  • IT Standards, Methodologies, SDLC, Information Security & audit requirements.
  • Knowledge on creating formal written deliverables and other documentation and ensure design, code and documents are aligned with enterprise direction, principles and standards.
Nice-to-have:
  • Working knowledge of JCL/Zeke/OMS.
  • Working knowledge of Appache Zeppelin.
  • Working knowledge of ServiceNow Incident and Change Management.
  • Working knowledge of Endevor/Github for Source Code Management.
  • Working knowledge of WebFocus.
  • Insurance industry knowledge

Job Summary This individual partners across various IT groups to assess, research, and resolve system issues and develop new technology solutions that meet sponsor/stakeholder needs. Context is application support plus several concurrent enhancements and small to medium size development projects. The technology portfolio consists of Cloudrea/Spark/Scala/Kafka/Jethro/Tableau, ETL Data Stage Tools and WebFocus.
