Position Summary As a Cloud Data Engineer, you are passionate about all sides of data analytics and eager to assist in maturing the data & analytics capabilities at GaN Systems. This individual is to identify opportunities, share knowledge, and be financially aware when to apply new technologies and approaches that will benefit the business. In this role, the qualified candidate is expected to drive a self-service capability approach to data & analytics, managing data preparation efforts (data modeling, pipelines, extract efforts, etc.) and providing coaching on best practices and approaches around data and analytics.
Responsibilities: As part of this role, responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Implement and support data infrastructure projects (data architecture, ETL, Data Modeling, Data Management best practices)
  • Assist in managing and supporting GaN Systems business applications portfolio set
  • Create and support data pipelines and data models using commercial or custom scripts
• Develop self-service foundations others can leverage
  • Coach and assist on creating data visualizations
  • Guide the analysis and onboarding/implementation of new applications or software solution sets
  • Promote Software development and Software lifecycles best practices
  • Assist with the onboarding and support of GaN Systems Business Applications
  
  

• Experience with data platform cloud technologies for creating data pipelines (preference Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake, Azure SQL Server, PowerBI)
• Experience doing semantic data modeling and publishing datasets accordingly
• Understanding security rules and roles in projects, workspaces in PowerBI
• Possess in-depth understanding of SQL, database management systems and ETL (Extract, transform, load) frameworks
• Experience with ETL, data modelling, data lakes, warehousing, and business intelligence architecture
• Knowledge of programming, scripting (e.g., SQL, PowerShell, Python, C#, Power Query, DAX, REST API, XML)
• Working experience with GitHub, Visual Studio, PowerShell Scripting, and ARM templates
• Proven track record of learning new technologies quickly
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field
• Experience building data visualizations, preferably Power BI
• Experience with NetSuite and SharePoint
• Knowledge of SDLC or Agile methodologies is required
• Statistical Analytics experience is a bonus
