Lexia Communications Inc. is seeking an experienced

Data Centre Cabling Specialist

to lead structured cabling and infrastructure projects across our data center operations. As the

head of assigned projects

, you will be responsible for planning, executing, and overseeing end-to-end cabling and infrastructure installations. This role requires a professional with proven expertise in

structured cabling, infrastructure builds, and project leadership

, ensuring delivery of high-performance and scalable data center environments.

Key Responsibilities



Project Leadership:

Act as the head of assigned projects, leading cabling and infrastructure build-outs from start to finish.

Structured Cabling:

Install, terminate, and certify structured cabling systems (Cat6, Cat6A, single & multimode fiber).

Infrastructure Build:

Oversee rack & stack, cable management, power distribution, and system integration.

Team Supervision:

Lead and mentor technicians, ensuring tasks are completed on schedule and meet industry standards.

Standards Compliance:

Ensure all installations adhere to TIA/EIA, NEC, and BICSI standards.

Documentation:

Maintain accurate records of cabling layouts, pathways, and infrastructure changes for future reference.

Collaboration:

Work closely with engineering teams, project managers, and clients to align on goals and milestones.

Site Assessments:

Conduct surveys, equipment staging, and site readiness checks.

Troubleshooting & Maintenance:

Provide hands-on support for infrastructure upgrades, expansions, and issue resolution.

Requirements & Qualifications



Over 5 years of experience in structured cabling and data centre infrastructure projects. Extensive knowledge of fiber optic and copper cabling installation, termination, testing, and certification. Practical expertise with racks, PDUs, UPS systems, and overall data centre infrastructure management. Demonstrated leadership abilities in supervising teams and ensuring project deadlines are met. Skilled in interpreting and executing technical diagrams, blueprints, and floor layouts. Possession of industry-recognized certifications (BICSI, Fiber Optic, DC Infrastructure) considered a strong asset. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interface effectively with technical teams and clients. Capable of performing in physically demanding environments, including handling equipment up to 50 lbs. Willingness to travel and adapt to project site requirements.
