The
Data & Analytics Lead III
is a senior-level role responsible for owning the enterprise data and analytics strategy. This role was created to address Mullen's growing need for centralized data governance and analytics consistency across Business Units, ensuring our enterprise data is trusted, curated, and used effectively for decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the design and implementation of enterprise data models, semantic layers, and curated datasets.
Oversee the development of advanced dashboards, reports, and self-service analytics for Business Units.
Establish and enforce standards for data quality, governance, and lifecycle management.
Partner with Database Administrators to ensure analytics workloads are performant, secure, and aligned with operational systems.
Work closely with the Applications Team to ensure analytics outputs are usable by AI/automation workflows.
Mentor and guide Data & Analytics Specialists, providing technical leadership and career development.
Serve as the subject matter expert on reporting tools (Power BI, SQL Server, Fabric, DB2, etc.) and best practices.
Support executive and board-level reporting requirements, ensuring data accuracy and consistency across deliverables.
Collaborate with business leaders to identify high-value analytics opportunities and translate them into actionable projects.
Collaborate with other IT Shared Services segments to align on best practices, security controls, auditing, incident response, and shared project initiatives.
Contribute to the development of Mullen's enterprise data strategy and participate in technology roadmap discussions.
Be available for an on-call rotation and after-hours work as required
Required Qualifications:
7+ years of experience in data analytics, business intelligence, or data engineering.
Advanced proficiency in SQL, Power BI, and data modeling concepts.
Strong understanding of relational databases (SQL Server, DB2) and cloud data services (Azure Data Lake/Fabric preferred).
Proven ability to establish governance practices and lead enterprise-scale data initiatives.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to business stakeholders.
Experience mentoring junior staff and providing team leadership.
Familiarity with transportation/logistics data models is an asset.

III (Senior/Lead level): Recognizes that this role is not just about building dashboards but setting strategy, enforcing standards, and providing leadership within the Database & Analytics team and across IT Shared Services.

Data Analytics
Reporting Services
Power BI and advanced DAX modeling
Data pipeline design and ETL tools
PowerShell or scripting for data automation
Data governance or metadata management
