We are seeking qualified individuals for the role of Data Analyst. Please note that this is not a fly-in, fly-out position and will be based in Labrador West, NL. This position will be on a 5x2 Monday to Friday rotation - 8-hour day shifts
Position Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical
Data Analyst
to join our team. This role is responsible for developing and maintaining Business Intelligence (BI) dashboards, analyzing operational downtime data to identify trends and repeat failures, conducting root cause analysis (RCA), and supporting continuous improvement through data-driven solutions. The analyst will also be responsible for writing clear and actionable procedures based on insights and operational best practices.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Business Intelligence Dashboard Development
Design, develop, and maintain interactive dashboards and reports using tools like Power BI
Collaborate with stakeholders to understand reporting needs and ensure accurate and timely data visualizations.
Automate data pipelines and reporting processes where applicable.
2. Downtime & Failure Analysis
Collect, validate, and analyze downtime data from equipment or production.
Identify patterns and recurring failure modes to support maintenance and reliability improvements.
Maintain historical datasets for downtime tracking and performance benchmarking.
3. Root Cause Analysis & Solutions
Lead or support root cause investigations using structured methodologies (e.g., 5 Whys, Fishbone Diagram, FMEA).
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., maintenance, engineering, operations) to develop corrective and preventive actions.
Track effectiveness of implemented solutions and recommend additional improvements as needed.
4. Procedure Writing & Documentation
Translate analytical findings and process improvements into clear, concise standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Ensure documentation aligns with internal quality, safety, and operational standards.
Support knowledge sharing through user guides, training materials, and internal communications.
Education & Experience:
Diploma in Data Science, Engineering, Business Analytics, or a related field.
2+ years of experience in a data analyst role, preferably in a manufacturing, industrial, or operations environment.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in BI tools (Power BI)
Strong skills in Excel, SQL, and data modeling.
Familiarity with RCA tools and reliability analysis methodologies.
Basic understanding of process improvement principles (Lean, Six Sigma, etc.) is a plus.
Soft Skills:
Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team.
Attention to detail and a commitment to data accuracy and integrity.
