As the Data Analyst Summer Student, you will support Calgary Transit in the collection, integration, analysis, and presentation of business information. Primary duties include:

• Support the Data Analytics team in planning, designing, and implementing data management and analysis strategies.
• Develop, manage, track and maintain data and databases.
• Report result, interpretation, impact, patterns, trends, and recommendations.
• Collect, qualitative and quantitative analysis, interpretation and dissemination of Calgary Transit data; obtain data by field surveys, onboard checks and computer-based Automatic. Passenger Counting/Automatic Vehicle Tracking System (APC/AVTS)
• Perform and implement rigorous data quality checks and processes to ensure data is accurate.

Qualifications

• 
  Enrolled in a diploma or degree in one of the following programs: Computer, Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Business.
• 
  Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) is required.
• 
  A Valid class 5 Driver\'s License (or provincial equivalent) and the use of personal vehicle is required.
• 
  Knowledge in SQL, data modeling, analysis, visualization design skills, and statistical analysis are preferred for this role.
• 
  Intermediate experience in Database management is an asset.
• 
  Experience in technical software such as SQL Server, Oracle, GTFS, FME, and Python are assets.
• 
  Effective communication skills, along with good work ethic, positive attitude, collaboration, organizational skills, decision making, conflict resolution, empathy, and problem solving skills are required to excel in this role.

Pre-Employment Requirements

• 
  Must be currently enrolled in school on a full-time basis with the intent to return to school full-time in the Fall of 2023.
• 
  A security clearance will be conducted.
•

Compensation: $26.63 per hour

Days of Work: This position works a 5 day
work week with 1 day off in a 3 week cycle.
