We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Data Analyst to join our team. In this role, you will analyze real estate market trends in Ottawa, Ontario, and Canada, turning complex data into actionable insights that inform decision-making, engage stakeholders, and support revenue growth through statistical products. The ideal candidate brings a strong background in data analysis, an understanding of the real estate market, and a passion for data-driven storytelling.
Duties
Collect, analyze, and interpret real estate data to identify market trends, emerging patterns, and key insights.
Produce regular and ad hoc reports, dashboards, and visualizations for internal use, member services, media, and public dissemination.
Collaborate with internal teams to support strategic initiatives and decision-making through data insights.
Assist in developing statistical products and services that provide added value to members and stakeholders.
Support the Board's efforts to monetize real estate data and insights through new or enhanced offerings.
Monitor housing and economic trends at the local, provincial, and national levels, and assess their implications for Ottawa's real estate market.
Develop predictive models and analytics to forecast market behavior and guide Board policy and advocacy.
Ensure data quality, consistency, and reliability across platforms and outputs.
Collaborate with the Director, Data, Innovation & Technology to align statistical initiatives with technological systems and strategic priorities.
Engage with external partners, stakeholders, and media as a subject matter expert on Ottawa's housing market and real estate economics.
Experience
Post-secondary degree or diploma in Data Analysis, Statistics, Economics or a related field
3-5 years of experience in data and/or statistical analysis
Experience in learning and utilizing customized database systems
Experience working in the Real Estate industry and/or not for profit associations is an asset
Skills and Core competencies
Strong analytical and statistical skills with proficiency in data visualization and business intelligence tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Google Data Studio, Excel, etc.).
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to convey complex information clearly to
diverse audiences.
Strategic thinker with a strong business acumen and an entrepreneurial mindset.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively across departments.
High attention to detail and commitment to data integrity.
Familiarity with real estate market trends and housing policy is considered an asset.
Working Conditions
Normal office environment. No unusual hazards. Generally, deals in routine conversations and interactions.
Physical Requirements
This job requires a mix of sitting, standing and moving, with a balance between computer-based work and verbal communication. Physical effort is low intensity more than 2 hours per day.
Mental Requirements
This job requires a balance between computer-based work and written/verbal communication. The candidate is regularly required to balance priorities between different stakeholders. Mental effort is moderate intensity including extended screen time, data entry and generally dealing with routine conversations and interactions.

Hybrid Position
This role follows a hybrid model, requiring three days per week in the office, with Fridays designated as a mandatory in-office day.
