Summary:
The Box Class 3 Driver will operate a box truck to support Miller Waste's organics cart exchange program, including picking up and delivering carts and ensuring the cart-washing team has enough clean carts available. The role involves maintaining efficient workflows, providing frontline customer service, and occasionally assisting in other waste and recycling operations as needed.
Responsibilities:
As a Box Class 3 Driver, your duties will include but are not limited to:
Ability to adhere to Miller Waste Systems safety protocols and must be familiar with the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
Operating a box truck on our organics cart exchange line of business.
The ability to push, pull, and lift heavy bins repetitively is required.
Coordinate timely pick-up and delivery of containers.
Ensure that the cart washing staff have an adequate supply of clean carts for customer use.
Develop/maintain high productivity.
Have excellent customer services skills, as you will be the front-line contact with the customers.
In addition to duties above you will also be cross trained in other lines of business and equipment and may be called on from time to time to take on other duties as required.
Occasional weekend work is required, in order to assist residential contract needs.
Competencies & Qualifications:
Valid and clean Class 3 Driver's Licence.
Must be a team player and proven safe working habits.
Previous driving experience is a requirement.
Excellent attendance record is a must.
Excellent interpersonal skills along with written and verbal communication skills.
Flexibility with your work schedule is a must as start and end times may vary.
A physically fit lifestyle would be a benefit and previous waste industry experience would be considered an asset.
