How your role will add to the story:

We're looking for a Cyber Security Intern (Defensive) to join our Global Cyber Security team. This team efficiently mitigates threats by proactively identifying, protecting, detecting, responding to, and recovering from cybersecurity incidents. It takes action before these threats negatively impact or continue impacting Daimler's IT infrastructure as well as shop-floor and connected vehicle environments. If you have relevant knowledge foundation, want to learn, and help us to shape and sustain Daimler's cyber resilience, then we want to talk to you.

A day in the life

  • Based on alert trigger, conduct technical analysis to determine impact, scope, and response actions.
  • Analyze in-depth and triage potential security threats to identify their risk and impact.
  • Work closely with the Cyber Threat Intelligence team to enhance analysis results and provide additional context.
  • Act as point of contact to end users and vendors.
  • Work on one of our global Virtual Teams, e.g. Threat Intelligence, Forensics, or Reverse Engineering Malware. Manage / support projects to improve our cyber security posture.
  • Please note, the nature of this position is a technical security function, not a compliance function.

Qualifications

Mercedes-Benz Star skills, requirements & traits:
  • Perusing degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or other IT-related field of study.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Hands-on experience with various operating systems, network monitoring, and protocols.
  • Working experience in IT security or IT operations related field in a corporate, military, or law enforcement environment will be a plus.
  • Hands-on experience with SIEM tools, e.g. Splunk will be a plus.
  • Project management experience will be a plus.
  • Able to work under pressure.
  • Good communicator, able to engage and effectively respond to diverse stakeholders.
  • English fluent.
  • Bold, innovative and enjoy challenging yourself

  • Big picture thinker, go-getter, self-starter
