Your contribution

We are looking for a Specialist in Customs Operations, with bold ideas that deliver value to our partners and advance our industry. By joining MHIRJ, you will work with a flexible, dynamic and united team.

In your role, you will:

\xc2\xb7 Work collaboratively with MHIRJ\'s compliance department to define and maintain operational policies and processes associated with foreign trade.

\xc2\xb7 Coordinate with different customs brokers and carriers to clear import and export shipments.

\xc2\xb7 Accurately identify harmonized codes, and classify parts for customs clearance

\xc2\xb7 Support, maintain and audit import and export procedures and processes, including export control, within MHIRJ warehouses.

\xc2\xb7 Monitor company compliance continuously through periodic checks, audits and KPIs.

\xc2\xb7 Prevent regulatory agency-imposed fines on the company and ensure full compliance with all export and hazardous activity, and promptly investigate trade non-compliance once detected.

\xc2\xb7 Act as main liaison between operational teams and MHIRJ\'s compliance department regarding regulatory or compliance questions.

\xc2\xb7 Support internal stakeholders with customs-related inquiries and issues.

\xc2\xb7 Maintain licenses and permits, trade program enrolments along with special customs exemptions and waivers.

Key qualifications:

As our ideal candidate,

\xc2\xb7 You have a minimum of 10 years\' experience in US foreign trade, import/export compliance and/or customs brokerage

\xc2\xb7 You have Bachelors\' degree in international trade, logistics, supply-chain or equivalent along with a specialized designation in the administration of customs related-matters. Certified Customs Specialist (CCS) certification is an asset.

\xc2\xb7 You have basic knowledge of FAA (Federal Aviation Administration) and (FAR) Federal Aviation Regulations

\xc2\xb7 You have excellent knowledge of the various North American customs processes

\xc2\xb7 You have interpersonal skills necessary to work effectively with a variety of individuals and departments.

\xc2\xb7 You have excellent organization and time management skills, as well as adaptability to change

\xc2\xb7 You have strong problem-solving skills, ability to troubleshoot and propose solutions

\xc2\xb7 You have the ability to work independently and with limited supervision

\xc2\xb7 You have working knowledge of various computer skills necessary to operate word processing, spreadsheet, database, presentation and web-based applications.

\xc2\xb7 You have excellent English language skills (reading/writing/speaking)
