Monday to Friday, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed

Position Summary



Right Service Right Choice is seeking a

Customs Coordinator

to oversee our customs department. You will be responsible for the accurate preparation and clearance of customs documentation, managing international shipment compliance, and coordinating with customers, drivers, and various stakeholders to ensure smooth border crossings and timely deliveries.

Key Responsibilities



Customs Documentation:

Ensure all customs documentation is accurately prepared, submitted, and cleared (including entry numbers for regular shipments, IT bonds, and T&E bonds).

Customer Coordination:

Contact customers to gather required paperwork, communicate documentation needs, and resolve inconsistencies.

Driver Support:

Ensure drivers have the correct documentation for border crossings and that shipments are certified for transit.

Software Usage:

Accurately use systems such as

Axon, Avaal, Border Connect

, and

Arion

to manage customs processes.

Issue Resolution:

Handle issues at the border related to all shipment types (e.g., amendments, arrivals, cancellations). Prevent additional charges such as demurrage, storage, or redelivery costs.

Manifest Management:

Enter U.S. shipment manifests in the system, print ACE manifests, and ensure regulatory compliance.

Inbound Freight Clearance:

Coordinate with

CBP agents

and customers to ensure timely clearance and delivery of inbound freight.

Stakeholder Communication:

Liaise with drivers, customers, and government officials to streamline shipment processing.

Qualifications



Education:

Bachelor's in International Business, Logistics, or a related field (preferred, not required)

Experience:

2-3 years in customs coordination or similar role; Automotive industry experience is a plus

Knowledge:

Strong understanding of customs regulations, IT/T&E bonds, and customs software systems

Languages:

English (required), Spanish (preferred)

Technical Skills:

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and customs management software (Axon, Avaal, Arion)

Certifications:

Customs Broker License or other relevant certifications (an asset, not required)
