The Customs Rater/freight handler plays a pivotal role in the logistics and shipping industry by ensuring on-time deliveries and accurate classification and rating of goods for customs and clients requirement. This position requires a detail-oriented individual who can effectively manage customer relationships while navigating the complexities of international trade regulations.

Duties
Accurately classify and rate goods based on customs regulations and tariff codes.
Negotiate rates with carriers and service providers to ensure competitive pricing.
Maintain comprehensive records of shipments, ensuring all data entry is precise and up-to-date.
Manage customer relationships by providing exceptional service and addressing inquiries related to customs processes.
Collaborate with account management teams to support client needs and enhance service delivery.
Utilize carrier sites and software applications for tracking shipments and managing data efficiently with Excel or similar software.
Engage in inside sales activities to promote customs services and expand client base.
Work closely with 3PL (Third Party Logistics) providers to streamline operations and improve service efficiency.
Stay informed about changes in trade regulations that may impact customs rating practices.
