THE POSITION:

The Scotiabank Centre Box Office managed by Events East Group is now inviting applications for the position of Customer Service Representative with our Box Office team.



Reporting to the Box Office Manager, the Box Office Customer Service Representative is responsible for handling ticket sales for events at Scotiabank Centre, ensuring a seamless transaction process for all patrons. This role also involves delivering exceptional customer service by assisting with inquiries, resolving issues, and providing accurate information about events, seating options, and venue policies.



As the first point of contact for patrons, the Box Office plays a critical role in shaping their overall experience. The interactions between our representatives and guests leave a lasting impression, making it essential for our team to consistently provide professional, courteous, and efficient service. By offering top-notch assistance, the Box Office representative helps create a positive and welcoming environment, contributing to the success of each event and ensuring the satisfaction of our patrons.



This Casual Hourly position will be operational onsite within the Scotiabank Centre.



THE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Operations:

Provide outstanding customer service to all patrons, promoters, and Events East Group employees, both in person and over the phone.

Develop a comprehensive understanding of box office operations, including online account management, access across multiple Ticketmaster platforms, and the services and features of the Scotiabank Centre.

Maintain strict confidentiality when handling event and customer information, as well as data within the Ticketmaster database.

Process ticket sales at the box office windows for various types of shows at the Scotiabank Centre.

Utilize computerized ticketing systems to address and resolve ticketing issues for patrons and business needs.

Balance sales and prepare cash deposits at the end of each shift.

Ensure proper storage and safeguarding of cash and ticket inventory.

Perform other duties as required.



Service Excellence:

Deliver personalized, friendly, and efficient service to every patron, ensuring each interaction reflects the Scotiabank Centre's commitment to excellence.

Resolve customer inquiries or concerns in a timely, professional manner while ensuring a high level of satisfaction.

Monitor and assess customer feedback to continuously improve the customer experience and service delivery.

Follow through on all customer interactions, ensuring issues are tracked and resolved promptly, and keeping patrons informed on the progress of their requests.

Ensure that the box office environment is welcoming, organized, and conducive to a positive customer experience.



Health & Safety:

Report all safety hazards, near misses, and incidents to the direct supervisor as soon as is reasonably possible. Take action to correct the safety hazard if possible and reasonable.

Adhere to departmental standards and guidelines, job procedures, and equipment operation protocols to ensure the safety of oneself, team members, and patrons.

Wear, use, and ensure the appropriate use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required, report any issues or violations within the team or onsite to the direct supervisor.

Report any damaged PPE to the direct supervisor, promptly.

THE PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS: Education and Experience:

Grade 12 education or equivalent secondary education.

Minimum of 1 year of front-line customer service experience.

Minimum of 1 year of experience handling cash sales and balancing deposits.

Proficient computer skills.

Ability to communicate effectively in both written and spoken English.



Physical Demands:

Must be available to work varied shifts, primarily evenings and weekends, but may also include weekdays and holidays.

Shifts can be up to 12 hours in length.

This position is performed at a workstation within the Box Office at the Scotiabank Centre, and the following physical and environmental conditions are present:

Frequent walking, sitting, standing, bending, and reaching to fulfill customer service needs.

Moderate to loud noise levels and regular foot traffic, including large crowds of people queuing and moving around.

Overhead fluorescent lighting.

Temperature-controlled indoor environment.

We manage and operate the Halifax Convention Centre, Scotiabank Centre and Ticket Atlantic. Created as part of a government partnership between the Province of Nova Scotia and Halifax Regional Municipality, we work in collaboration with them to manage our business in a responsible and transparent manner.



We were established in 2014 through legislation to operate, maintain and manage the activities of the Halifax Convention Centre in a manner that will promote and develop economic development, tourism and industry in the Province generally, and the Municipality.



Effective April 1, 2017, our mandate expanded to include the continued management and operations of Scotiabank Centre and Ticket Atlantic, formerly under Trade Centre Limited (TCL).
