$57,184.40 - $64,591.80





Specific Position Information:

The successful applicant will be required to provide a current Vulnerable Sector Police Reference Check.


Expected End Date:

For approximately six (6) months.


Hours per week and Schedule of Work (Hours and Schedule of work are subject to change in accordance with Article 19):




35 hours per week. Evenings and Saturdays required.

Plus seven [7] variable hours.




Job Summary:




To provide customer service and administer the shelving and shelf-reading activities in a branch.


Duties:




Under the general direction of the designated supervisor and working within a team structure, this position is responsible for:

Leadership Functions:




shelving and shelf-reading activities in the branch participating in the selection and training of Pages; setting performance objectives and monitoring performance ensuring staff are aware of and comply with established policies, procedures and practices, including health and safety assist in planning and scheduling of work

Service Functions:




performing circulation functions including materials processing interpreting and implementing circulation policies communicating services, policies and procedures to customers providing basic information services conducting programs performing database maintenance functions maintaining petty cash funds for expenditures performing various branch support duties such as preparing daily timetables, typing documents, recording statistics

Qualifications:




Secondary School Graduation Diploma plus two (2) years' related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience Understanding and appreciation of the philosophy of public service to all, in accordance with human rights legislation and the principles of equity and access in the delivery of library service Good communication, interpersonal, organizational, and customer service skills Knowledge of library procedures Ability to supervise and to do work requiring accuracy, skill and thoroughness Ability to provide basic information services Ability to interpret and implement circulation policies Ability to use judgement and common sense Ability to conduct programs Ability to work as part of a team
