What You Get to Do:

  • Interface with customers (both internal & external) to understand their needs and in-service requirements on project scopes, costs, schedules, and proposals.
  • Apply project designs for new overhead and underground facilities for both new extensions as well as system improvement projects including relocation and removals of existing facilities using project templates or design templates.
  • Issue accepted projects for execution.
  • Ensure the coordination of activities to meet customer expectations, project requirements and timely service delivery for customers.
  • Act as the customer liaison and consultant throughout the scoping phase of the Customer Connection Project process. This includes communication with the customer on a regular basis.
  • Identify ways to meet and exceed customer experience expectations, improve service delivery, and reduce costs.
  • Apply pricing, schedules, and commercial terms for customer proposals.
  • Follow-up with customers on proposal acceptance or cancellation.
  • Manage external notifications and consents.
  • Manage release packages of completed & outstanding permitting, consents, and notification to execution phase.
  • Apply standardized designs to mapping software and queries available systems to identify requirements of:
  • Constraints to the design
  • Other permitting
  • Land rights
  • Specialized design
  • System planning
  • Brushing
  • Environmental
  • Prepare construction drawings and compile and submit material lists.
  • Generate commercial terms, investment, proposal letters and site ID.
  • Maintain Health & Safety guidelines by completion of tailboards and participation in safety meetings & completing safety accountabilities.
  • Interface with financial and project management systems as required.
  • Develop and maintain status reports to track projects, trends and metrics.
  • Pro-actively identify potential customer/service delivery risks and expeditiously works with departments to expeditiously address/resolve and escalates where appropriate.
  • Assist with post-completion technical and financial reviews where necessary.
  • Look for best practices and process improvements to improve productivity, innovation and efficiencies.
Qualifications:
  • Technical Diploma or related Business Diploma.
  • 3 years of electricity industry and/or customer service experience.
  • 3 years of experience in customer service, proven ability in conflict management, issue resolution and negotiations.
  • Equivalent combination of post-secondary education and/or years of experience may be considered. Completion of a post-secondary technical/business diploma in a related discipline from a recognized Canadian Institute of Technology will be preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills - verbal and written.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Understanding of basic electrical concepts.
  • Excellent critical thinking, problem solving, planning and organizational skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to foster a positive team environment.
  • Ability to work independently and effectively prioritize and manage multiple time sensitive tasks.
  • Ability to work with all customers and diverse community groups to develop and maintain positive working relationships.
  • Knowledge of company and Canadian Electrical Standards would be an asset (including but not limited to Metering Standards, Construction Standards, CSA Standards, Canadian and Alberta Electric Utility Codes, Customer Guide to New Extension and Terms and Conditions).
