What You'll Be Doing:
A balance of cooking for your own meal prep clients and managing the meal prep operations.
Training and mentoring new chefs
Leading and managing the chef team to ensure The Rooted Table's high level of commitment to quality, consistency and beautiful presentation are being met across the board.

Responsibilities:
Kitchen Leadership & Execution
Lead the day-to-day operations of the meal prep kitchen with efficiency, organization, and care
Oversee schedules and ensure smooth workflow among the team
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized kitchen environment
Quality & Consistency
Ensure every meal meets our standards of flavour, presentation, health and proper portioning
Uphold consistency across menus while accommodating dietary needs
Menu development with input on prep-friendly systems and improvements
Team Development
Train, mentor, and support kitchen staff
Foster a positive, collaborative, and respectful kitchen culture
Provide constructive feedback and ensure accountability
Operational Support
Work with our Ops Assistant to manage prep lists, ordering needs, and inventory with efficiency
Monitor food costs, minimize waste, and support overall kitchen profitability
Collaborate with leadership and catering teams to ensure alignment on standards and operations
You Might Be a Great Fit If You:
are an experienced chef with a foundation in operations, nutrition, and menu design
Have leadership experience and are able to oversee a team, maintain accountability, and ensure smooth operations
Are highly organized, capable of planning, scheduling, and coordinating prep for multiple clients at once
Can manage cost controls to keep the kitchen efficient and profitable
Are skilled at recipe development and adapting dishes for dietary restrictions, substitutions, and preferences
Thrive at balancing speed and quality - maintaining efficiency without ever compromising standards
Are independent and self-motivated, but also a team player who fosters collaboration and a positive culture
Bring a can-do, solutions-focused attitude and believe in creating a joyful, professional, and accountable work environment
Bonus If You:
Have meal prep experience or a personal chef background
Have a driver's license
