Description:
We are a warm, welcoming, faith-based, and busy family of four (children ages 10 and 6), seeking a reliable, high-energy, and proactive House Manager & Family Assistant to become part of our family's rhythm. Our home is fast-paced with professional travel, school, sports, and charity events woven into our week.
Both parents work from home and are deeply involved in busy, meaningful work: Mom travels frequently for professional speaking/coaching engagements, while Dad works from home but values privacy. Life in our household is joyful, high-energy, and sometimes unpredictable. We want someone who can roll with the punches and bring calm, fun, and order to our days.
Our ideal candidate is organized, flexible, and able to anticipate needs before they arise. We're looking for someone who feels like part of the family- happy, creative, kind, and is able to support our children in building independence while also keeping our household running smoothly. This person will help manage household tasks, prep meals, support the kids with after-school routines, and support in calming the behind the scenes chaos. The ideal candidate feels like an "older sibling"- kind, playful, creative, and firm when needed, while also being organized, detail-oriented, and respectful of our family's values.
Key Responsibilities:
Household Management & Organization
Maintain tidy, organized household systems (closets, pantry, toys, seasonal clothing, decor).
Reset and tidy rooms daily; keep home ready for cleaners (bi-monthly).
Oversee household schedules, calendar, and seasonal swaps.
Support with donation drop-offs, guest prep, family event prep, and packing/unpacking for travel.
Handle light daily cleaning: dishes, wiping counters, vacuuming high-traffic areas, trash removal, mirrors, dishwasher loading/unloading.
Prep for family events, holidays, and guest visits.
Plan and prep 3 healthy family dinners/week, with light prep for other meals.
Follow family dietary needs, preferences, and restrictions (2 individuals in the family are gluten-free).
Maintain kitchen cleanliness and tidiness.
Prepare kids' school lunches/snacks; reset lunchboxes after school - ensure lunches are cleaned out and repacked daily.
Prep smoothies and healthy snacks, especially on busy activity days.
Grocery shopping for necessary items.
Laundry & Linen Care
Wash, fold, and organize household laundry (clothing, bedding, towels).
Iron/steam clothing and prepare outfits as needed.
Rotate bedding and refresh towels weekly.
Family Support & Child Assistance
School/activity pick-up and drop-off.
Supervise after school, assist with transitions and prep between activities, and support with homework.
Prepare after-school snacks, support kids in cleaning backpacks and developing independence.
Provide backup childcare and occasional overnights, if needed.
Vehicle & Vendor Support
Ensure family cars are fueled, clean, and maintained.
Coordinate appointments or service providers if parents are away.
Administrative & Special Projects
Manage family calendars and reminders.
Assist with planning/coordination of family nonprofit events and charity projects.
Support seasonal projects: deep clean fridge, oven, or baseboards; organize storage, garage, or closets; holiday prep.
Ideal Candidate Qualities
We're looking for someone who:
Brings joy and positivity into the home.
Is proactive, sees gaps, and anticipates needs without waiting to be asked.
Balances fun and playfulness with structure and follow-through.
Is creative, curious, and comfortable gamifying tasks.
Is organized, detail-oriented, punctual, and tech-savvy.
Respects family values and boundaries while feeling like "part of the family."
Is patient, calm, and steady amidst a busy household.
Is not allergic to pets (we don't have pets now, but may in the future).
Can commit for at least 2 years of being with our family.
