MacEwan University is seeking a Custodian for a 5-month, Full-time opportunity with our Custodial Department.


As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for our students, staff, and visitors across the university campus.


Key responsibilities include:

Cleaning: including windows, light fixtures, entrance matting, and floors; Vacuuming and steam cleaning carpets; Disinfecting washrooms, showers and locker rooms; Dusting all ledges and waxing floors; Re-arranging and lifting furniture; Collecting waste and recycling from all areas and disposing of it properly; Replacing paper products and sanitizers; Reporting all significant incidents to Security Services; Removing snow at entrances; and Setting up classrooms.

SKILLS

You will have:

The ability to operate custodial equipment; Strong written and verbal communication skills; The ability to perform physically demanding work; and Proven knowledge of safe chemical handling practices.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum completion of Grade 10 education. WHMIS certification. Minimum of three years of experience with cleaning in a similar type setting. A Building Service Worker Certificate is an asset. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
