The Opportunity:

A Night Custodian is required to provide custodial services and lead hand duties. Regular custodial services include the cleaning of classrooms, labs, offices, corridors, and washrooms. Project cleaning is extended to walls, ceilings, and the resurfacing of floors - both manual and machine methods are used to accomplish this. This position also includes assisting in moving of furniture, equipment, and office moves; as well as set-ups for special college functions (i.e. graduation, examinations, college open house, etc.). In addition to regular custodial duties, team lead duties include the scheduling of resources, maintaining inventory, purchasing of supplies and equipment, contact for service providers, minor repairs and maintenance of equipment, assisting custodial staff with procedures that will maintain a high standard of safety, cleanliness, and efficiency and working with the Manager of Facilities, Operations with budgetary and operational issues.

What you need to be successful:

high school education minimum of 2 years of work experience as a caretaker/cleaner in a commercial/institutional environment previous experience in a lead hand and or supervisory roll ability to work effectively within a collaborative team environment ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally ability to maintain inventory and perform purchasing functions knowledge of minor repair and maintenance techniques

This is an Appendix D support staff position, Payband E, 40 hours/week.
