The Opportunity
SunMETA Group is currently seeking to fill the role of a Curriculum Developer - Early Childhood Education in
Calgary, Alberta.
This position is in the Curriculum Department and you will work with a collegial, fun, and supportive team!
Key Responsibilities
Develop and design comprehensive curriculum materials for the Early Childhood Education (ECE) program that align with institutional standards, provincial guideline, and industry best practices.
Conduct thorough research to ensure program content reflects current trends, pedagogical advancements, and regulatory requirements in early childhood education.
Collaborate with academic leadership, subject matter experts, and instructors to create engaging and effective course content, including lesson plans, assessments, and instructional materials.
Review and update existing curriculum to maintain relevancy and compliance with provincial and national ECE standards.
Integrate modern teaching methodologies, digital tools, and interactive learning strategies to enhance the student learning experience.
Provide training and support to instructors in the implementation of new course materials and instructional strategies.
Participate in quality assurance processes, including preparing documentation and reports as needed.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Experience
A diploma or degree in Early Learning and Child Care
Level 3 ECE certification in Alberta
At least 3 years experience in the ELCC field
Proven experience and proficiency in developing and delivering curriculum to students
In-depth understanding and knowledge of higher education and institutional matters related to instructors.
Expertise in creating academic curricula for post-secondary education in Canada.
Familiarity with learning management systems and various computer programs.
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
Expertise in teaching techniques specific to ELCC
Thorough knowledge of particular procedures, legislation, and guideline
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Capable of self-direction and effective collaboration within a team
Demonstrate respectful behavior, critical thinking abilities, and appropriate language
