CURLING CLUB JOB DESCRIPTION- CLUB MANAGER Primary Purpose of the position:
Under the direction of the Jasper Curling Club Board, the Manager will be instrumental in growing and sustaining the membership and ensuring the ongoing successful operation of the club along with an active team of volunteers, who organize and run a wide range of curling programs that meet the needs of members.Overview:
While responsibilities cover the full year, the seasonal nature of the business of the Club requires the
General Manager to work a flexible and variable schedule, depending on the time of year. Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Manager will:

• meet goals and deadlines within time allotted
• plan and carry out all operational activities related to club management
• work with all committees to carry out operations, promotions and provision of the curling club
• other programs and services

Responsibilities/DutiesOn-lce Curling Activities:

• administer the registrations and collection of fees from league representatives
• deposit fees and report back to the Treasurer with appropriate back-up
• assist in the installation, maintenance and disassembly of the ice area as required, including installation of on-ice advertising,
• handle the day to day operations of the club
• maintain a relationship with league representatives, board members and committee chairs, and assist in setting up schedules
• obtain a roster from each league representative, showing teams and members for NACA and board
• help maintain records of leagues and spares with league representatives
• plan, organize and carry out approved in-club special events with pre-arranged committees
• take the lead in approved plans to recruit new members
• market, promote and organize outside ice bookings (eg. school groups, learn to curl), invoice and collect fees
• maintain equipment inventories and, with icemaker, recommend replacement to the executive
• market, organize and plan bonspiels, secure sponsorships

Off-lce Activities: __

• market and administer lounge rental including Dart League
• liaise with the Bar Manager to ensure that the bar is open as necessary and to ensure that all conditions of licenses are adhered to (eg. Bar manager has ProServe qualifications)
• plan, organize and carry out approved in-club special events with pre-arranged committees

Other:

• be the point of contact with the Municipality concerning maintenance of the lounge, rental agreement, in-house service calls, etc.

• make recommendations to the Board regarding improvements
• liaise with the NACA, AGLC an other agencies to ensure that the Club is in compliance of all requirements of those organizations
• obtain necessary licences and insurance for the Club
• manage the Club's presence on social media and supervise any service contracts
• develop, maintain and post a calendar of events
• market and administer advertising and seek sponsorships - i.e. on-ice logos, wall
• advertising, etc., invoice and collect fees
• maintain an open line of communication with the Executive and attend monthly Executive meetings
• assist bartender and board in set up and closure of lounge
• perform other duties as required
