POSITION DESCRIPTION Position Title: Club Manager - Sackville
Reporting To: Director of Children\xe2\x80\x99s Programs
Term: Full Time
Weekly Time Requirement: 40 hours per week POSITION OVERVIEW AND OBJECTIVE
Reporting to the Director of Children\xe2\x80\x99s Programs, the Club Manager is responsible for the overall management of the BGC Club including programs, operations, financial management, staff and volunteer supervision. FUNCTIONS
Programs

  • Ensure programs/activities are implemented and uphold BGC Greater Halifax mission and values
  • Ensure all programs prioritize member safety
  • Maintain a clean and positive work environment
  • Be aware of and ensure the delivery of age-appropriate services that consider participant\xe2\x80\x99s physical, medical, emotional and social need
  • Promote healthy lifestyles, build self-esteem, teamwork through fun, safe and challenging activities for all stakeholders
  • Ensure special programs with designated funding are staffed, resourced and evaluated according to funding requirements (ex: BGCC programs and grant opportunities)
  • Responsible for monitoring club resources (ex: supplies, food, facility) for programs.
  • Ongoing evaluation of Club programs, in conjunction with Director of Children\xe2\x80\x99s Programs.
  • Optimize and partner with community assets such as the service clubs, community agencies, churches, schools, parks, and other entities
  • Support and participate in club-wide events such as Parade of Lights and fundraising events
  • Maintain and prepare monthly club reports including monthly expenses, program statistics, incidents and impact stories
  • Responsible for supervising the implementation and data collection of approved grants, and reporting all collected data to the Director of Children\xe2\x80\x99s Programs
  • Provide support to programs (members) when required, such as maintaining group ratio standards and guiding behaviour
  • Ensure that sign in/out procedures, attendance lists and other collection and delivery of children procedures are followed and records maintained
Human Resource Management
  • Responsible for selection, orientation, training, supervision and performance management of all club staff
  • Regular coaching and mentoring of club staff to ensure compliance with BGCGH policies regarding child engagement, discipline and child protection during program implementation
  • Responsible for staff scheduling and ensuring accurate entry of staff hours into ADP payroll system
  • Develop and maintain positive working environment through regular staff development, engagement and communication and regular staff meetings
  • Mediate staff conflict, contact Director of Children\xe2\x80\x99s Programs for support, if required
  • Identify and recommend staff training/development opportunities
  • Ensure all new employees have their probationary and yearly (if applicable) performance evaluations completed
  • Maintain OHS Standards within the club
Communications
  • Develop and maintain positive communications with families, ensure Club staff develop relationships with Club families and communicate appropriately
  • Ensure that Club families receive regular program updates and other key information timely
  • Develop and maintain internal club communication practices, such as weekly staff meetings, OHS measures, staff development and emergency staff contacts (for emergency closures)
  • Promotion of Club programs and special events, such as fundraisers in conjunction with Communications Director
Financial Management
  • Monitor Club and program expenditures to ensure compliance with budget parameters and submit monthly expense reports to Director of Finance
  • Maintain Club Visa card
Student Placements and Volunteers
  • Manage and work with students and volunteers to ensure their placement is mutually beneficial
  • Direct all queries from new volunteers and students to Director of Children\xe2\x80\x99s Programs for onboarding with HR
Transportation
  • Maintain driver\xe2\x80\x99s license for 24 passenger bus and/or other rented/related vehicles for organization (Class 4). Training provided.
  • Daily scheduling, cleaning and security of Club bus, adherence of bus inspection schedules, ensuring Director of Children\xe2\x80\x99s Programs is aware of all mechanical issues as they arise
  • Drive bus when necessary
Other
  • Security of Club facility.
PERFORMANCE MEASUREMENTS
Performance will be measured on a number of aspects including:
  • Adherence to policies and procedures
  • Accurate completion of monthly report requirements in a timely manner
  • Positive parent and member feedback and meeting client demands and complaints to clients\xe2\x80\x99 satisfaction
  • Achievement of program goals
  • High program registration, returning members (%)
  • Low ratio of Incident Reports (%)
  • Low staff turnover (%)
Job Type: Full-time Salary: $40,000.00-$45,000.00 per year Benefits:
