DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
o Develop, coordinate, and facilitate various cultural initiatives such as traditional crafting and land-based activities.
o Generate all necessary material requests, check requests, and support material to ensure project completion.
o Be present, respectful, and participate in various cultural and public events, meetings, and activities.
o Manage program records and information. Gather, compile, and analyze data and prepare reports.
o Maintain confidentiality and communicate with discretion; always positively represent the Montreal Lake Community Detox Inc.
o Assist clients as part of their daily routine as required.
o Follow through with the individual program plan of the client.
o Ensure appropriate records are completed in a timely manner, such as the staff log, client program plan, contact notes and incident reports.
o Attend to light housekeeping requirements.
o Receive and respond to phone inquiries and attend to clerical duties as required.
o Participate in training sessions, workshops, and other short courses for the purpose of upgrading skills and knowledge on addictions information, treatment, and detox approaches.
QUALIFICATIONS:
o Grade 12 diploma with a minimum of one-year post-secondary training would be an asset.
o Experience in planning, developing, and implementing events and activities.
o The ability to understand the Woodland Cree language and have extensive knowledge of First Nations culture, practices, protocols, customs, and belief systems is a definite asset.
o Knowledge of cultural safety within indigenous communities.
o Strong analytical, referral, assessment, and treatment planning skills.
o Driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle is a definite asset.
o Must be willing to work evenings and weekends.
o Ability to work as team player or independently.
o Self-motivated, flexible, dependable, and innovative.
o Ability to problem solve and resolve conflict.
o Excellent interpersonal and communication skills as well as written, organizational and time management skills.
o Computer literacy with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
o Must be willing to sign and abide by the facility Code of Conduct, including an Oath of Confidentiality and social media policy.
o Must be willing to submit a current CPIC upon hiring.
o Must possess a strong commitment to personal wellness.
