The Manager, Culinary Experience will be responsible for:

Creation of daily and weekly menus with an emphasis on freshly prepared, in season ingredients

Support and training for culinary teams to foster excellence in the dining experience of our residents

Enthusiastic participation in sales, community and recreation activities of the residence

Compliance with all regulators and organizational policies

Manage labour hours and food costs within allocated budget

Oversight to Occupational Health & Safety Committee to ensure it meets all legislative requirements

Prompt resolution of residents and family concerns

Performing other duties as assigned

Plans, co-ordinates, directs and monitors the effectiveness of all operational activities within the housekeeping, laundry and maintenance departments.

Facilitates department budgets.

Maintaining the building (includes equipment, furnishings and fixtures) in a clean and sanitary good state of repair.

Managing and overseeing the routine and preventative maintenance program for the home

Review fire drills and supports the coordination of fire prevention and disaster planning programs.

Support the review of building security systems to ensure best practices.

Maintaining the external grounds; oversees waste management program for the home.

Ensuring that Health & Safety risks to residents, employees and the general public are minimized or eliminated.

Ensuring the timely and efficient laundering of linen and residents' personal clothing.

Responds to call-in's for Maintenance issues in the building (off hours).

Must haves:

Graduate of an accredited culinary program

Experience in managing culinary teams in both dining and food preparation, including creation of menus, food ordering, managing daily costs and steps of service training

Working knowledge of food safety and supporting a food safe environment

Strong leadership capabilities and excellent written/oral communication skills
