This course explores design practices for branding strategy and advertising as they are developed in a professional environment. Through experiential learning processes, lectures, case studies, and studio projects, students will gain practical and theoretical knowledge to create and understand the visual language under-pinning brand identities and advertising campaigns. The course emphasizes the development of brand strategy, aligning creative design and communication with strategic objectives to build cohesive and effective brand messages.
Position Requirements
The successful candidate must hold a MA, MFA, or PhD with a focus on Creative Technologies and/or Design, or equivalent as related to the course.
The successful candidate must provide:
Evidence of experience teaching at the university level;
Evidence of experience teaching Adobe Illustrator, In Design, and Photoshop, as well as design processes, visual communication and graphic design in relation to branding and advertising;
Evidence of teaching critical thinking and analytical skills necessary to analyze advertising design, and propose solutions grounded in theoretical understandings;
Evidence of experience managing classroom and online technologies used by UofR.
A sample syllabus that is relevant to the course description and meets the curriculum requirements of the Creative Technologies & Design programs.



Previous experience teaching CTCH/DES 213 is required.
Physical Demands Pay Grade Faculty Sessional Salary Range As per URFA Collective Agreement Status Other Work Hours
CTCH/DES 213 is scheduled on Wednesdays from 1800-2045 on-campus delivery.
