The instructor will teach core creative coding methods and strategies for computational art. The instructor will engage in demos and studio activities to support students in developing the skills and confidence to work critically and creatively with computational tools. The instructor will introduce students to a variety of artists and practitioners engaging with computational media through short readings and survey lectures rooted in the history, theory, and contemporary practices of creative coding and digital art. As an introductory course, activities will encourage experimentation, curiosity, and play.
Position Requirements
The instructor must have a MA, MFA, PhD, or equivalent degree; Evidence of experience teaching creative technologies, and understanding creative coding methods; Evidence of awareness of key issues in relation to the course; Experience teaching at university level.
Must provide a sample syllabus relevant to the course description.
Physical Demands Pay Grade Faculty Sessional Salary Range As per URFA Collective Agreement Status Term Work Hours
CTCH/DES 204 is scheduled on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1730-2015 on campus.
