Originally opened in the 1980s, the Ski Hill hosted the

Northwest Winter Games

in 1990 and since then Spring Lake continues to be a comfortable, rural retreat where community spirit meets outdoor adventure. With its friendly, small-hill atmosphere, it's the perfect place to learn, play, and connect -- both on and off the slopes.

About the Role

We're seeking

enthusiastic and patient CSIA Level 1 Certified Ski Instructors

to join our team for the 2025 - 2026 winter season. You'll inspire confidence, foster skill development, and share your love of skiing with guests of all ages and abilities.

Whether helping first-timers take their first turns or refining the techniques of seasoned riders, you'll play a key role in creating a safe, fun, and rewarding experience for every visitor.

Key Responsibilities

Instruction:

Teach private one on one ski lessons to individuals focusing on safety, skill development, and confidence building.

Lesson Planning:

Adapt instruction based on guest age, experience, and ability level, ensuring each student progresses at their own pace.

Safety & Supervision:

Maintain a strong emphasis on safety by ensuring all participants understand and follow hill rules, lift procedures, and proper riding etiquette.

Guest Experience:

Provide a fun, encouraging, and inclusive learning environment; serve as a positive ambassador for Spring Lake Ski Hill.

Equipment Support:

Assist guests with proper fitting, adjustment, and use of Ski equipment.

Communication:

Work closely with other instructors, lift operators, and management to coordinate lesson times and group logistics.

Professional Conduct:

Represent Spring Lake Ski Hill with professionalism and enthusiasm both on and off the hill.

Qualifications

Canadian Ski Instructors Alliance (CSIA) Level 1 Ski Instructor Certificate required.

Previous teaching or coaching experience preferred

Strong skiing ability and understanding of safe skiing techniques.

Excellent communication, patience, and interpersonal skills.

Enjoys working outdoors and with children, families, and beginners.

Ability to adapt to different learning styles and group dynamics. Must be available weekends, holidays, and peak ski season hours.

Willingness to complete on-site training and orientation.
