Position Summary: This course is focused on the study of health communication from a critical communication studies perspective. It will provide students with insight into the history and contemporary strategies of health communication in a variety of media. Particular attention will be paid to how representational practices shape ideas about health. Topics may include social marketing and health promotion, entertainment education, health and technology, health awareness campaigns, and representations of physical and mental health in media.

This appointment is in accordance with the , for which the Wilfrid Laurier Faculty Association (WLUFA) is the exclusive bargaining agent.
