Your Role as a Crusher Operator
As a Crusher Operator, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining crushing equipment to support our aggregate production. This is a rotational trades role based at our Belleoram, NL site, working 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off on 12-hour shifts.
Key Responsibilities
Operate, monitor, and maintain primary and secondary crushers, conveyors, stackers, and screens to ensure safe and efficient production.
Operate, monitor, and maintain crusher support equipment including loaders, excavators, skid steers, and haul trucks.
Perform daily inspections, preventative maintenance, and routine adjustments to keep equipment in optimal condition.
Conduct troubleshooting and minor repairs, escalating larger mechanical issues to maintenance as required.
Work closely with supervisors and teammates to establish safe, efficient operating practices.
Track production, record downtime, and report issues to support continuous improvement.
Participate in pre-shift meetings, toolbox talks, and hazard assessments to keep safety at the forefront.
Assist with general site duties such as equipment clean-up, material handling, and supporting other trades when needed.
Ensure adherence to environmental and quality standards throughout crushing operations.
What You'll Bring
Red Seal Certification, or working towards certification, is preferred.
Hands-on experience operating crushing, screening, and wash plants.
Knowledge of tower operations and control of primary, secondary, and tertiary crushing components (including grizzly, jaw, cone, feeders, and screen decks).
Experience operating heavy equipment such as loaders, haul trucks, and excavators.
Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose mechanical and electrical problems.
Experience performing and leading both planned and unplanned maintenance on crushing equipment.
Knowledge of aggregate production processes and quality control standards.
Commitment to safety as the top priority -- making safety part of every task.
Ability to obtain a clean miner's medical.
Team-oriented mindset with strong communication skills to collaborate effectively.
Willingness to work a remote, rotational schedule (2 weeks on / 2 weeks off, 12-hour shifts) in Belleoram, NL.
Physical ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and perform manual tasks as needed.
Note, a condition of employment will be that the successful candidates must become members of the operations union, LiUNA Local 1208. Individuals hired will be reminded of this when they get to the offer stage of employment.
