Cross Border Long Haul Owner Operator
Job Description
This position requires you to be on the road 7 to 14 days at a time, averaging 10,000 to 12,000 miles per month, available for dispatch 24 days a month. Resets on the road as required. Running open-board, Canada/U.S. long-haul
Southbound freight could depart from any of our Bison locations into any of the lower 48 states
Northbound freight could go into any of the Canadian Provinces and Territories
Required to drive 17 in Ontario, 12 months a year
Required to drive in California, and U.S. Mountains 12 months of the year
Averaging 10,000 to 12,000 miles per month (regional freight will be required)
Flexible schedule requiring weekend departures
Must be able to haul all commodities including meat and alcohol
Candidate Profile:
Owner-Operator with 24 months tractor-trailer experience Tractor must be 2020 or newer and equipped with a working DEF system Must be U.S. qualified Must have a minimum of 6 months U.S. driving experience Must have a minimum of 6 months Highway 17 experience B.C. Mountain experience is an asset CP Rail experience is preferred Must be eligible for a FAST card Must be able to work weekends Must have a valid Class 1/AZ License Must be able to lift 50 lbs. or more, Driver assist is required on occasion Reliable, flexible, and punctual Strong communication skills Values safety
