Position Overview

Joe Macek | Private Capital at iA Private Wealth and iA Private Wealth USA is seeking motivated individuals for our Cross Border Wealth Associate Apprenticeship program. This is an entry-level position designed for those who want to launch

a meaningful career in wealth management

but may not yet have direct industry experience.

If you are disciplined, coachable, and eager to learn, this role offers the opportunity to earn while you gain the skills, training, and licensing required to become a licensed wealth advisor.

Our practice is rapidly growing across Canada and the United States, with a strong focus on expansion in Texas -- one of North America's fastest-growing wealth markets. By joining us, you will be immersed in a high-performance environment that combines structured learning with hands-on client exposure.

This apprenticeship is designed to take individuals that are

pursuing a career in wealth management, that have potential

- without financial services experience, and help develop them into elite cross border advisor specialists capable of serving high-net-worth clients in Canada and the US.

What You Will Do

As an apprentice, you will start by learning the fundamentals of a wealth management practice while supporting our team's day-to-day operations. You will assist with client relationship management, helping prepare for meetings, following up on communications with new prospective clients, and learning how trust and service are built in a professional environment. You will also gain practical training in how client accounts are opened, transferred, and managed, giving you valuable knowledge of how a wealth management practice operates.

From there, you will be introduced to the broader areas of wealth planning. Under the mentorship of experienced advisors and portfolio managers, you will learn about Canadian and U.S. tax considerations, financial planning strategies, and retirement projections. You will also gain exposure to insurance solutions, estate planning strategies, and the role these play in protecting and growing client wealth. On the investment side, you will be trained in the fundamentals of asset allocation, stock selection, portfolio construction, and trade implementation -- learning directly from seasoned professionals who manage client portfolios every day.

Throughout your tenure, you will also dedicate time to your professional development. Licensing and education costs are covered, and you will study toward securities and insurance licenses, In addition to technical skills, you will take part in marketing and outreach initiatives, supporting communication campaigns that help expand our presence across Canada and the U.S. Finally, you will learn the importance of compliance and record-keeping, ensuring that all activity meets the strict regulatory standards required in both jurisdictions.

Who We Are Looking For

This is an entry-level role, and no previous experience in finance is required. What we are seeking are individuals who bring discipline, resilience, and a strong work ethic. Many of the qualities we value most are found in those with competitive athletic backgrounds, particularly in hockey or other high-level sports, where teamwork, coachability, and persistence are second nature. Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to stay organized are essential.

We are especially looking for candidates (if they happen to be in college or university) whom have completed their degree, or are very close to finishing, ideally in business, finance, economics, or a related field. While a specific academic background is not required, having a solid educational foundation will support your success in this apprenticeship. Above all, what matters most is your drive to learn and your commitment to building a career in wealth management.

Candidates must also have strong English communication skills

,

both written and spoken,

and must be legally eligible to work in Canada without sponsorship. The ability to travel to the U.S. as required is also necessary.

Compensation and Career Path

This apprenticeship begins at $16 per hour, providing a paid foundation while you develop the knowledge and skills required for future success. Unlike many entry-level jobs, this program is structured as the first step in a clear, long-term career pathway.

Within 12 months, strong performers will advance to the Associate Advisor level, where you can participate in a shared compensation structure as an associate partner

. At this stage, earnings can rise rapidly depending on your success, with compensation directly tied to your work ethic, initiative, and performance. Unlike firms where new advisors must build their practice entirely from scratch, our team generates new prospective client business opportunities and provides a steady flow of leads to accelerate your success.

As you take on greater advisory responsibilities, you will gain access to six-figure income potential, with top performers positioned to build toward seven-figure earnings over time. This career path also offers leadership opportunities within a fast-growing cross-border wealth management practice.
