We are hiring for one (1) casual position(s).

Hours for casual: Irregular, 0 - 32 hours per week, all holidays, weekends, fill-in, holidays and sick time taken by other staff.

Shifts for this position: 8-10 hours per shift, Evenings (4pm-12am) and Overnights (12am -8am)

You will be working with and for people who have experienced or are experiencing gender-based violence (GBV), family violence (FV) and/or intimate partner violence (IPV) in their lives. Therefore, an expectation of non-judgementalism in action and demeanor is

You will contribute positively to our work atmosphere, understanding that your role as team member must include respect for your co-workers, compassion for lived experience, equity in the workplace, and the importance of supporting all anti-lateral violence initiatives and policies.

You will have the ability to work effectively with people who identify on any gender scale, female presenting or not. You will possess the ability to utilize standard First Aid and interact with EMS and RCMP as needed. You will understand cultural awareness as it pertains to our Northern and Indigenous communities.

You will be required to perform all housekeeping duties including some grocery shopping, making meals, on-the-spot childminding, cleaning of bathrooms, stripping down and making up of beds, laundry, and floors.

You will possess adequate computer literacy to enable you to facilitate Intake and Departure documentation, assist clients with filling in forms for rentals, housing supports, addictions support, and/or Alberta Supports benefits. Further, you will possess the ability to write clear, concise, and objective case notes and/or incident reports.

In addition, and as your

core focus

, all CIWs provide client care which includes but is not limited to providing crisis assessment, crisis intervention conversations, safety strategy conversations and implementation, crisis management between clients in house, emotional support for clients and one another, and allow for clients to be open about their experiences.

Assets, but not required:

Social Work or Social Services Diploma or other relevant social services education Related work experience in domestic violence shelter Equivalent combination of education and experience First Aid ASIST

An RCMP criminal record check with vulnerable persons and an Alberta Child Services Intervention Record Check is required for employment.
