POSITION:

MAINTENANCE DIVISION CREW LEAD / HORTICULTURIST

MISSION:

The Maintenance Crew Lead plays a pivotal role in the success of the Maintenance Division at Costa Verde. Their primary mission is to oversee and ensure the flawless execution of daily maintenance contracts, delivering exceptional service to all our clients.As a leader, the Crew Lead is called upon to guide and motivate their support staff to achieve success, setting the standard for efficiency and quality. They are leaned upon to exceed routine responsibilities and proactively help enhance our service to clients.

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:

- Professionally represent the Costa Verde brand and promote a strong company culture.- Efficiently perform daily maintenance tasks, including pruning, weeding, trimming, etc...- Successfully operate all required tools and equipment in a safe manner.- Ensure tools and equipment are fully operational by performing regular preventative maintenance.- Keep company vehicles presentable at all times.- Lead and oversee the landscape maintenance crew by setting clear daily expectations, delegating tasks effectively, and ensuring quality standards are met through regular checks.- Enforce safety standards at all times and keep crew informed of ongoing hazards.- Meet weekly production targets set by the Division Manager, helping keep jobs on time and on budget-Proactively create opportunities during project execution to provide crew training, enhancing productivity and ensuring quality work.- Go beyond routine site duties to proactively manage contracts, including identifying opportunities, implementing improvements, and delivering exceptional client value.- Consistently complete administrative responsibilities and and assist the Division Manager in ensuring the crew adheres to the same responsibilities.- Positively motivate and guide support staff.

SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS:



Minimum 3 years of landscape maintenance/gardening experience Strong foundational knowledge and experience using landscape maintenance equipment, including mowers, string trimmers, blowers, etc... Horticultural education or Real Seal certification is an asset Strong Plant ID knowledge is a must! Pesticide Applicators Ticket is an asset. Some Integrated Pest Management knowledge and understanding. Strong understanding of safety regulations, including safe handling of equipment, safe worksite practices, and proper PPE. Certification in first aid is an asset. Proven ability to effectively delegate tasks, manage tight timelines, and ensure work is being done efficiently. Must be able to demonstrate some previous leadership experience. Strong communication skills are a must! Class 5 driver's license with a clean driver's abstract Smartphone with data Personal PPE including steel toe boots and rain gear
