The Creative Intern, Clean Energy will be responsible for the design and production of all creative materials related to ECEI community engagement. This role will be a 3-month term position. Accountabilities: We are looking for a creative designer with a passion for design and visual storytelling. The role will report to the Creative Lead in the Corporate Communications department. Key accountabilities include:

  • Create a wide variety of materials including but not limited to factsheets, PowerPoint presentations, website elements, logo design/branding, promotional banners, handouts, direct mailers and email templates.
  • Participate in creative strategy and development with internal partners (departments) and external partners (AOR, Print and Publishing) for all channels (online, social, traditional, publications, events).
  • Ensure brand standards are established and maintained.
  • Maintain the integrity of brand programs to showcase our clean energy initiatives.
  • Work closely with members of the ECEI team to create brand consistency across all channels.
  • Maintain marketing asset management, organization, and creation of photos, videos, content, etc.
  • Meet project deadlines and budgets.
  • Demonstrate commitment to workplace health and safety.

You will be responsible for personal safety, that of co-workers, and those under your direction by observing and ensuring compliance with all Occupational Health and Safety Rules and Regulations. You will be accountable for environmental performance as it relates to the environment management system processes and initiatives. Skills, Capabilities, and Experience:
  • Basic understanding of the principles of brand & creative strategy
  • Knowledge of design marketing and communications
  • High-level knowledge of advertising processes and the various advertising disciplines (creative, production, web/mobile content, video)
  • Results-oriented mindset
  • Strong aesthetic skills with the ability to understand the importance of colour, layout and font
  • Strong time management, organizational and multitasking skills
  • Strong communication and consensus building skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task and give each project attention to detail
  • Ability to contribute individually and participate in cross-functional teams.

Qualifications:
  • Undergraduate degree, or diploma in visual arts, design or equivalent experience
  • Demonstrated experience working with creative development
  • Digital design for web/mobile content
  • Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign
  • Experience working with agency partners and cross functional teams.
The following qualifications would be an asset:
  • Experience with web-based content management systems
  • Video experience - storyboarding, shooting and editing
