The Role


We are in search of a skilled Creative Director who can lead the development of an exciting VR game for the Meta Quest 2. Our preferred candidate should be a great collaborator, and have a strong passion for gaming with previous experience in a creative leadership role. As the ideal candidate, you will be comfortable handling the design aspect of game development while managing a team. Your voice and vision will guide the creative process as you work in tandem with the team to breathe life into our stories and ideas. You possess a solid understanding of game production and are capable of transforming your vision into reality while ensuring the team remains cohesive and motivated.

Responsibilities

  • Establish art style and tone, and ensure cohesion across the campaign
  • Design and maintain an efficient creative pipeline to ensure the quality and consistency of all projects
  • Develop and implement an overall vision and creative foundations of the game (visual effects, theme, context, gameplay, etc.)
  • Develop, articulate and conceptualize ideas for team and client
  • Work closely with the production team to ensure that quality criteria are met
  • Assist in managing the day-to-day operations of the design team, including setting priorities, assigning resources, and ensuring project goals are achieved
  • Promote a culture of feedback, innovation and teamwork
  • Update knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, maintaining personal networks, and participating in professional organizations/events
  • Partner with producers and production managers to liaise with internal and external stakeholders

Essential Experience & Qualifications

  • 2+ years of supervision experience with art and design teams in the VR or video game industry
  • Work experience on a published game, from conception to release, preferably in VR (but not necessary)
  • Proven experience working towards a product\xe2\x80\x99s strategic objectives
  • Ability to formulate ideas, communicate with the art team and make constructive suggestions
  • Team spirit, creative direction, and ability to deliver exceptional quality projects
  • Engaging leadership style, with a focus on the collective success of the team and its development

Useful Skills & Experience

  • Past shipped AAA PC and/or console games
  • Experience with VR/AR production processes or VR/AR in general
  • Leadership experience, including mentoring and team management
  • Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills
