Reporting to the Manager, Work Disability Prevention & Long Term Benefits, Case Coordinators utilize a client centered approach in managing claims of workers who are experiencing work disability due to a workplace injury. They work with employers, injured workers, and health care providers to assist in achieving a safe and timely return to work using established work disability prevention strategies. Case Coordinators coordinate the activities of internal and external resources, in planning and executing recovery and return to work. These positions interpret and apply Workers Compensation Board legislation, policies, and procedures. Duties include, but not limited to: * developing detailed case plans for injured workers based on best practice; * coordinating a team effort towards a goal oriented recovery that prevents unnecessary work disability, based on established benchmarks; * applying legislation and policy in relation to determining entitlement to benefits and services and the extent of WCB\xe2\x80\x99s responsibility on claims; * communicating with workers, employers, and other stakeholders in a timely manner and in a variety of ways; * coordinating access to appropriate services for injured workers; * providing clients with information on Board programs and services, policy and legislation, and ensuring that processes are clear and understood; * ensuring claim files are up to date, summarized and complete, and ensuring that documentation of reasoned decisions, including rationale to support weighing of evidence is on file; * adhering to established case management standards; * collaborating with the management team in the development and revision of Workplace Services policies and procedures, and plans for the Workplace Services Division; * working together and actively participating in service improvement initiatives.
