to join our team, responsible for operating a 27.5 Ton International Stinger Truck Stiff Boom <40T. This position involves operating the stinger and potentially the telehandler & forklift to lift, move, position, and reposition loads. The ideal candidate will possess excellent precision, attention to detail, and a strong commitment to safety. This position is advertised as part time but is construction based the hours will vary as demand varies.
This is shop and project-based work and there is opportunity to work in several places on Vancouver Island.
Key Responsibilities
Operate the stinger truck to lift, move, position, and reposition loads in accordance with work orders or instructions.
Inspect crane mechanisms and lifting components regularly to ensure proper function and safety.
Perform routine maintenance on the stinger truck and other associated equipment, reporting any malfunctions promptly.
Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines during operation.
Communicate effectively with ground crew and signalers to ensure safe and efficient operations.
Maintain accurate records of daily activities, including load movements and maintenance performed.
Utilize telehandler and forklift as required to assist in load positioning and movement.
Qualifications
Proven experience as a Crane Operator with certification for < 40T stiff boom.
Valid Crane Operator certification or license.
Air brakes and Class 1 driver's license.
Clean driver's abstract required.
Strong understanding of crane operations, load charts, and safety procedures.
Ability to interpret load charts and calculate load capacities accurately.
Excellent communication skills and ability to work well within a team.
Physical strength and stamina to operate heavy machinery for extended periods.
Additional Requirements
Flexibility to work in various weather conditions and overtime when necessary.
Willingness to travel to different job sites as required by the company.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing job requirements.
