JOB OVERVIEW:



We are currently seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented

CPAP Clinician

to join our CPAP Clinic on a part-time basis. This position's focus is to support, encourage and educate our clients to bring about positive outcomes emphasizing PAP compliance. Clinical and interpersonal skills will be utilized to a great extent. The incumbent will educate clients on sleep disorders as well as orientating them to the appropriate use of their equipment. They will determine the right machine and interface for the patient and troubleshoot issues or concerns as they arise. They will follow up with their clients at regular intervals and reach out to physicians and other healthcare providers to ensure optimal therapy adherence and patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:



Assess and educate clients on their respective sleep disorders and associated medical conditions as well as their prescribed therapy and equipment. Provide a judgement free space where clients feel welcome and are provided the opportunity to ask questions. Initiate therapies including CPAP, APAP, and Bi-Level. Fit and adjust CPAP masks and devices to ensure comfort and compliance. Educate patients on proper usage, maintenance, and troubleshooting of CPAP equipment. Provide on-going clinical and equipment follow-up to your clients. Address client compliance issues and develop treatment plans. Document all client interactions accurately and completely. Assist with device setup, calibration, and minor repairs as needed. Stay up to date with industry best practices, CPAP technology, and compliance guidelines. Adhere to privacy and confidentiality standards and requirements in accordance with relevant legislation (ie. PHIPA), clinic policies, etc. Duties will vary from time to time to support the needs of the organization. Operate in a safe way following all policies and procedures as outlined by the Oshawa Clinic Group and relevant legislation.

Qualifications:



Current license (RT, RPSGT, CPSGT, CCSH, RN, or RPN) in good standing with the College of Respiratory Therapists of Ontario, the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists, or the College of Nurses of Ontario. Excellent interpersonal, organizational and computer skills. Clinical PAP experience is an asset but not required. Willing to train the right individual. Strong cardio-respiratory assessment skills. Experience with Electronic Health Record software and Microsoft office. Excellent organizational and time-management skills. Ability to work independently and enthusiasm for being part of a functional team. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

Additional Information:



Primary work location is Courtice Health Centre with a secondary work location of Whitby Health Centre (to meet operational requirements). You may be scheduled at all sites with CPAP services within the Oshawa Clinic Group and all are considered your regular place of work. There will be no additional compensation in consideration of what site you are scheduled for shifts. Part-time hours are scheduled based on 20-30 hours per week. Hours of work are part-time and will generally fall within the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Monday to Friday. Only those selected for interviews will be contacted.
