What Would You Do?

Palliser Furniture Ltd. is currently seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented individual to fill the role of Cover Sorter. The successful candidate will be part of the Cover Kitting team and contribute to the efficiency of our operation.

The duties and responsibilities of this position would include:

Sort all incoming sewn covers and documents all identified issues on the appropriate re-work logs. Oversees that orders are complete, given to the Cushion Filling Team for completion, and by ensuring that quantities are verified, and shortages are documented. Lift sewn covers out of the shipping boxes, compare tagging to incoming paperwork, randomly inspect the sewn leather/fabric covers for quality issues, and re-work and place on appropriate wagons for delivery to the team. Co- ordinates the workflow of sewn covers for the blowing machine, cushion filling, and footrests. Ensure workflow is balanced between all teams by following dates set out on the production schedules. Ensure priority is given to late orders, pilot runs, showpieces, and any rush orders. Able to support other departments if needed.

Able to read and write in English. Responsible and safe work habits. Be a team player. Ability to communicate with internal and external contacts both verbally and in writing. Strong organization skills and attention to detail in all areas of work. Strong work ethic and positive team attitude. Flexible and available for scheduled overtime. Capable of lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds, as this position requires lifting, bending, and moderate physical exertion.
