Course Description
General overview of symptoms for different crises and how different professionals can intervene and refer, including ethical and professional issues.

Teaching Qualification Requirements:
EducationPhD in Counselling Psychology, Applied Psychology, Clinical Psychology, Social Work or Counselling, or equivalent
ExperienceGraduate level training in crisis intervention and trauma
Clinical or applied experience in crisis intervention and trauma related
Experience teaching educators
OtherIf the applicant has taught this course exactly once previously, she/he must have had satisfactory teaching evaluations in this course that meet the Department's expectations. This requirement does not apply to applicants who have taught the course at least twice
If the applicant has not taught this course previously, but has taught in the hiring unit previously, she/he must have had satisfactory teaching evaluations that meet the Department's expectations
Adherence to evolving program requirements concerning course content and program-developed competencies; course content and references must reflect the most current advances in the field
If 3 years or more post-degree, evidence of continuing education (minimum 15 CE hours per year)
Additional Information:
Effective dates of appointment are August 20, 2025 to December 26, 2025. Course dates are August 27, 2025 to December 3, 2025. This course will be offered in-person on campus at McGill.
