BIOL302. Fundamentals of Genetics and Genomics.
The Department of Biology is inviting applications for a course lecturer position to teach in Fall 2025. Please include your Cover Letter and CV.
Duties:Course preparation: development of lectures, lecture slides, polling questions, design of quiz and exam questions, selecting papers for conference discussions
Teaching team meetings (includes working with teaching assistants): plan, adapt and discuss course content and structure
In-person instruction: lecture, active learning, problem-solving and discussion
Weekly office hours (and availability to respond to student questions via email)
Grading: delivery and grading of quizzes and exams, support teaching assistants with grading and feedback
Teaching Qualifications Requirements:PhD in Biology or in a related field.
Evidence of highly effective teaching ability or of superior communications skills and potential for teaching excellence.
The candidate's area of specialization should be as close as possible to that of the course being offered.
Experience as a teaching assistant for a course is an asset.
Start date: September 26, 2025 - December 3, 2025. 3hrs per week.
Salary: $8,388.50. Before applying, please note that to work at McGill University, you must be both authorized to work in Canada and willing to work in the province of Quebec at the campus where the position is based / located.
